Looking for the Dragon

Looking for the Dragon

Route
The “Looking for the Dragon” tour connects two exhibitions – Between The Walls and Dragon's Den – allowing visitors to learn more about the history of Poland’s most famous legend.

on view from 24 April, 2026

During a walk along the defensive walls, we discover the dragon’s many faces: from the skeleton of a prehistoric reptile, dubbed the Wawel Dragon by its discoverers, through the story of how the cave was formed, to an animated retelling of the oldest legend from the early 13th century by Wincenty Kadłubek.
The final stage of this journey is a descent into the interior of the Dragon’s Cave in a new setting, where light, sound, and shifting shadows remind us that the legend is still alive.
